The President has signed an Executive order to implement the previously announced pay adjustments for 2016. To summarize, most GS employees are scheduled for a 1.3% pay increase in 2016.
The 2016 salary tables, incorporating this new rate, have been posted to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM’s) website here, and below.
The 2016 pay schedules will become effective pay period 1, starting January 10, 2016.
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) conducted an annual review of special rates, and assessed that no special rate tables will be abolished, although in some cases the 1.3% raise will make regular pay more than special table pay, so some feds will be paid the higher regular rate. Division E of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016, contains provisions affecting the determination of pay adjustments for certain prevailing rate (wage) employees in fiscal year 2016. Review full memo here.
Best of luck in 2016! Let’s use this great news as motivation to strive for the best governance we can provide to the 4 counties, Massachusetts, and our great nation.
